I lie alone
A bullet passed
Through skin and bone
Has silenced me
But others rise
And lift their voices
To the skies
To condemn those
Who’d kill a child
Whose rousing words
Had been compiled
Against a world
That will not see
Girl’s worth to
Humanity.
My sisters, please
Don’t let this go.
Around the world
Let knowledge grow
And fight against
The vice of fear.
Send our message
Out strong and clear,
That women have
A place as well
On all Life’s roads.
Don’t let them quell
Our voice of truth.
Let our demands
Be strengthened by
Our women’s hands.
