Sunlight on the water dancing
Gently with its Autumn flow
Lends its rhythm to a shoreline
Caught in a transforming glow
Of scarlet leaves and golden grasses,
Murmured sounds and watching eyes.
Distant voices mark the passage,
River beneath October skies.
A fishing pole dropped over railings
Held in hands as old as time,
Weathered face reflecting seasons,
All are building blocks to rhyme.
